I do not want to grow up and have an income because then I will be obliged to succumb to the consumerism of Christmas. I do not want to have to make a list of 20 people to buy gifts for and subsequently spend many hours shopping for them. When I grow up, you can expect gift cards from me.

Better yet, how about I just throw some cash at you? Go buy your own gift.

Is that cynical?
