Real friends are nice. Real friends are the ones who not only like to "hang out" with you, but they're the ones who you can have serious talks with. They can be silly at times... in fact, they probably have to be silly at times. You can talk to them without any restraint, dump your problems on them, and know that they really care.

They don't just compliment you - that would be nice, sure, but not something I'd look for in a real friend. A real friend will point out your mistakes, no matter how painful they are. But they will also constantly encourage you to be better than who you are. A real friend is there to pray with you and for you, read the Bible with you, and remind you to do your QT. They challenge you - physically, emotionally, intellectually, and spiritually - although their strengths may not be greater than yours in any one of these areas.
